News: Viewsonic releases mini PCs
Viewsonic has announced three new mini-PCs, the high performance PC mini 550 and 530, the “personal use” PC mini 132 and the diminutive PC mini 120.
The 550 is equipped with Windows 7, an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz CPU processor and Centrino platform for a quieter, more energy-efficient operation than traditional desktop PCs. It boasts the highest amount of system memory including 4GB DDR2 and a 320GB hard drive.
The prize piece, however, is the built-in Blu-ray combo disc drive for playing full 1080p video smoothly and with brilliant clarity.
The 550 includes a full-featured remote control, making it ideal for connection to a home entertainment system, or even serving as a multi-channel surround sound system via a SPDIF terminal.
Viewsonic’s 132 for general family and personal use weighs just 0.45kg and is only 0.6L in size – 50 percent of the surface area of an A4 sheet of paper. The 132 also runs Windows 7, and graphics performance is enhanced with the latest nVIDIA ION video chip, making it an excellent solution for HD games and multimedia entertainment with smooth HD display quality.
Lastly, the 120, which is designed to address the needs of SMB and SOHO that require simple operation, easy maintenance, space-saving design and power-saving features. It features Windows XP, has 1GB DDR2 memory and 160GB SATA hard drive, and offers multiple connectivity options with four USB ports for flexibility.
Available from selected retailers, the PC mini 550 retails for $1849, the PC mini 530 retails for $1349, the PC mini 132 retails for $969, and the PC mini 120 retails for $699.
