News: Sony release two affordable Blu-ray home theatre systems

« Writers | New Eee from Asus – with a twist »

Sony’s two “home theatre in a box” Blu-ray systems deliver full HD 1080/50p and 24p True Cinema output, decode the latest uncompressed HD audio codecs, and can access exclusive content through the BD-Live network with a broadband internet connection and use of external memory.

“With the growth of HD awareness and the increase in HD content, consumers are asking for a total home HD entertainment experience,” says Michael Higginson, Product Manager for HiFi Systems for Sony New Zealand.

“The new range of Sony BD home theatre systems deliver more than just pristine picture quality, they entertain with an enthralling audio experience and access to ever-evolving BD Live content.”

The BDV-E800W features integrated S-AIR wireless audio capabilities. Sony’s S-AIR technology transmits audio from the main-system to wireless rear speakers for simple surround sound. The BDV-E300 model is S-AIR ready so users can add an optional WAHTSA1 wireless kit to the supplied rear speakers.

Music lovers can also experience exceptional audio quality with Sony’s Digital Media Port adding connectivity options for music playback through various accessories.

The systems are straightforward to set up and with Sony Digital Cinema Auto Calibration (DCAC) speaker placement, distance and delay are all taken into account for optimised sound in any space.

The BDV-E300 and BDV-E800W systems arrive in August and will have an RRP of $1299.95 and $1799.95 respectively.
