News: Sony offers full-frame shooting with two new DSLR cameras

Sony offers serious photo enthusiasts a step up to the creative possibilities of full-frame shooting with its new DSLR camera, the Sony Alpha DSLR A850.
The A850 shares the same 24.6 megapixel sensor and features with the flagship DSLR-A900, introduced last year.
The purity of high-resolution image data captured by the full-frame sensor is optimised by two-stage noise reduction in both analogue and digital domains.
Noise reduction is first applied as the full-frame sensor converts light to electronic signals. Dual BIONZ image engines process large amounts of digital data, applying finely-tuned noise reduction during image processing.
The camera’s optical glass pentaprism viewfinder aids accurate shot composition, offering an extremely bright view with minimal distortion and an approximate 98 percent field coverage.
The camera also boasts a fast, high-accuracy autofocus system that provides excellent framing freedom while making it easier to achieve optimum focus with moving subjects.
The camera can be connected to a Sony BRAVIA or any HD TV for a big-screen view of your shots. On-screen image quality is optimised for superbly lifelike reproduction on BRAVIA models supporting PhotoTV HD.
The A850 will be available this month for $3999 (body only).
Also coming up for release is the Alpha A550, with enhanced Live View shooting.
The A550 offers 14.2 effective megapixel CMOS sensor and enhanced BIONZ sensor, as well as high-speed continuous shooting.
The feature-packed A550 digital SLR camera will be available in November and will retail for $1999 (body only) or $2599 (twin lens kit).
