News: Sony launches its new SXRD HD home projector range

« Ya gotta love a win-win scenario like this! | Asus unveil world’s first touch-screen netbook »

vplvw85-1

Sony is launching its new Bravia SXRD HD home projector range with high performance models for all requirements.

For those just launching into the world of home theatre and projectors, the entry level VPL-HW15 is tailor-made. The VPL-VW85 is for the serious home theatre enthusiast, while the top-ticket VPL-200 is Sony’s flagship model and sits right at the top of the range.

The new SXRD range come with a multitude of picture enhancement technologies to ensure that what the viewer sees on full-size screen is true-to-life and without flaws. These include fully digital signal processing by Bravia Engine 2 and Bravia Engine Pro, which generates incredible colour and clarity through eight separate picture enhancement processes carried out in real time. Digital Reality Creation (available with Bravia Engine Pro on the VPL-VW200) further improves both standard and high definition signals through four additional processing steps, allowing the viewer to see every detail clearer than before.

The SXRD name is short for the new Silicon X-tal Reflective Display panel, which has been developed and refined by Sony to reproduce superb 1920 x 1080 high definition output.

The series boasts incredible levels of colour by incorporating specialist colour technology, meaning bright, crisp and vibrant imagery. Bravia Engine 2 sorts this out, by optimising every frame for vibrant and lifelike results. And where additional adjustment is necessary, Real Colour Processing provides a precision toolkit for getting the right results.

The high-end VPL-VW200, entry/hybrid VPL-BW7 and entry full HD VPL-HW15 are available now. The mid-range VPL-VW85 is available next month.
