News: Slimmest Walkman Cancels Noise

« Wild Beasts – Two Dancers – Vinyl | Hydrofloors’ Swimming Pools Belong In the X-Men’s Danger Room »

Sony has released an MP3 player only 7.2mm thick with a noise-cancelling function that claims to block out 98 per cent of ambient noise.

The NWZA840 comes bundled with 13.5 EX noise-cancelling headphones and uses Sony’s proprietary S-Master digital amplifier. Sony also claims the device can play music for 29 hours, or 9 hours of video playback on the 7.1cm OLED screen.

“Sony prides itself on being able to integrate advanced audio features with a sleek form factor to elevate the music experience of our users,” said Stephanie Thiebault, Sony New Zealand Personal Audio Product Coordinator. “With the new Walkman A840 series, consumers will be able to enjoy their music in its purest form while navigating tracks easily on its large 7.1cm OLED screen.”

The NWZA840 comes in black in 16GB versions with an RRP of $399  or a 32GB model with an RRP of $499
