News: NZ’s marathon online concert resounding success

New Zealand’s first online concert has been judged a resounding success.

The online concert featured more than 50 of NZ’s top musicians performing for 12 hours in a variety of genres.

The formidable lineup – which kicked off with award-winning group Midnight Youth – featured the Feelers, Pluto, Autozamm, J Williams, Computers Want Me Dead, Motocade, Ivy Lies, Pistol Youth, The Naked & Famous, PNC, Goodnight Nurse and many more.

The non-stop gig was NZ’s first long duration live streamed gig. C4 viewers embraced the concept with 6370 unique browsers tuning in during the 12-hour period.

Viewers were able to engage in live chat with other music fans, C4 hosts and artists throughout the show, and more than 20,000 texts were received from viewers.

The first-time event was sponsored by Telecom.
