News: Liquid safe on bare wires

« Ricoh to open NZ technology centre | Jason Lytle – Yours Truly, The Commuter (Anti/Shock) »

liquid-tape

Liquid Tape works in the same way as roll tape, but its pitch is that it’s “more convenient and easier to use in confined spaces since it can also be applied with a brush, as well as dipped.”

The product looks to be a boon for electricians and those of Tone’s demographic who simply can’t stop playing with bare wires. It’s designed especially for use with electrical wiring as a brush-on insulator, and there is also a spray-on version for those who want more thrills.

Liquid Tape provides a thicker, synthetic rubber coating that makes it highly suited to covering bare wires, terminals and other electrical connections to protect them from moisture and salt penetration. it can also prevent terminal screws from vibrating loose, and can withstand extreme temperature variations and harsh environments.

Bruce Walker of Griffiths Equipment, NZ distributor of Liquid Tape, says it won’t crack, peel or harden and remains flexible, even under extreme conditions, and is suited to a number of applications: boat connections, trucks, garden lighting, underground cabling and security systems amongst them.
