News: Kiwi Florist Busted Messing With Google Maps
A Napier florist has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service for editing details of competitors’ addresses on Google Maps.
Forty-year old Kendra Drinkwater confessed to changing details of six other florists 100 times in just over a month in an attempt to direct customers away from her competitors and toward her own business.
According to CNET, Drinkwater told police she had an ‘addiction’ to messing with Google Maps.
Judge Tony Adeane, convicted the florist of six charges of accessing a computer system for dishonest gain, and has stipulated the mother of two must be supervised for nine months and undergo counselling.
