News: JVC’s region-free Blu-ray player NZ release imminent

JVC’s first entry into the Blu-ray player market will be region-free.

The XV-BP1 is also notable for its ability to handle playback of the AVCHD format, which allows it to work in tandem with its range of HD camcorders, and specifically its Everio range.

Other features include BD-Live (version 2.0) compatibility, when used in conjunction with USB memory. BD-Live allows the user to connect to the Internet for easy firmware updates, movie trailers, chatting, shopping, and much more.

JVC’s XV-BP1 Blu-ray player will retail in NZ for $699.
