News: JB Hi-Fi to Sell Dell

« Big Nintendo Begins Shipping | PS3 Motion Sensor Moved »

Inspiron 11z

JB Hi-Fi has signed up to become the country’s second phyiscal dealer for the computer giant Dell with JB set to offer punters Dell’s range of entry-level Inspiron home desktop and laptop PCs.

Dell had previously adopted a strategy of selling  exclusively over its online store, but altered that approach last year when it struck a deal to retail through Dick Smith’s 70 physical outlets.

Sydney-based general manager for Dell’s Australia and New Zealand consumer division told the NZ Herald that the company’s move was designed to take advantage of consumer behaviour.

“There’s a trend for a lot more people to research things online and combine that with an in-store experience. We’ve traditionally been the one online vendor in the market but we’ve evolved to have some retail presence,” Williams said.

From February, JB will begin stocking the all-in-one Inspiron One, the 15.6 inch Inspiron 15 laptop with Core i3 and i5 processors, and the Inspiron 11z, and 11.6 inch laptop priced around a grand.
