While most console manufacturers want to see gamers spend more time on their can, Nintendo is going against the flow, releasing a new accessory that actually encourages users to get away from the screen.
The Pokewalker a pedometer that interacts with the games Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver Nintendo DS gamers, wirelessly transfers Pokémon from characters from one of the two games and allows them to walk through virtual routes as the player walks around in real life. Gamers score points by wandering around, and can discover special Pokemon while out and about.
The Pokewaker is due to be released in March, so there’s still plenty of time to spend with the couch until then.
