Orcon has announced its latest offer to tempt consumers in the increasingly competitive broadband market.

For customers signed up to specific broadband plans, Orcon is offering free downloads from a selection of New Zealand-based websites, such as tvnz.co.nz, gamers.net.nz, biggie.co.nz, thealist.co.nz, georgefm.co.nz (and the George FM live stream) as well as Orcon’s own website.

Orcon’s chief executive Scott Bartlett sees it as an opportunity to promote local content, as well as allow users’ data allowances stretch further.

In a market where it’s often difficult for consumers to see genuine differences between what the different service providers have to offer, this is one point of difference that might get some traction.
