News: Ford has the keys to your teenagers safety with their new My Key

Gadgets and gizmos have no limits of where they will go next. Ford has unveiled a solution for teenage drivers, “My Key”. Designed to put parents mind at ease, this new parental control device is designed to keep teenagers safe while driving.
It uses microchip technology to limit the cars speed, restrict volume of car stereo, and sound alerts to improve teens driving habits. It also has the added bonus of giving parents ease of mind knowing that their teen isn’t speeding.
One teen who test drove the Ford Focus 2010 with the new My Key technology said that she would not feel trusted if her parents did it to her, her mum has others ideas thinking that it is a great tool.
The key can be programmed to give alerts if the seat belt is not buckled in and if the car goes over certain speeds.
Ford plans to make My Key a standard feature with every 2010 Ford Focus and selected other models, before making it available across the board.
