News: Epson’s high contrast glory
Epson’s new HD home cinema projector claims an unprecedented 75,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and a host of other improvements.
The EH-TW4000 also boasts the latest generation of LCD panels, high speed auto-iris function, advanced technologies like frame interpolation and HQV Reon VX video processing chip.
The projector comes with Epson’s DeepBlack technology and a new version of the company’s E-TORL lamp which produces deep, rich blacks in smooth-flowing images by increasing the native contrast ratio of the projector by about four.
The TW4000 is has three of Epson’s latest generation D7 C2Fine LCD panels with larger apertures to increase the native contrast of the projector, and Crystal Clear Fine filters that reduce light leakage and further increase native contrast.
The Epson EH-TW4000 is available for $6399 – the lowest price point to date for an Epson home cinema projector – and is available through Soundgroup Holdings.
