News: Cambridge Audio releases receiver with great all-round sound

Cambridge Audio is to release its new Audio Azur multichannel receiver with pure audiophile-quality sound.

With the majority of home theatre receivers much better appointed for translating the SFX of Hollywood than a truly great performance on musical tracks, it’s a relief to know that Cambridge Audio is working hard to make gear that does both, superbly.

The new Cambridge Audio Azur 650R 7.1 multichannel receiver has got all the power needed to drive those 7.1 Hollywood explosions, with its 100-watt amp and ability to handle all the formats needed, including Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD High Resolution and Lossless Dolby True HD. Not to forget DTS-HD Master Audio formats.

It’s got a completely new Cirrus Logic/Crystal chipset aboard, with the latest twin core 32-bit DSPs as well.

But most importantly, its ability with sound is natural-sounding and truly of audiophile grade, so music doesn’t become a poor cousin to all the big bangs and SFX that Hollywood offers.
