News: Big Nintendo Begins Shipping

Bucking the trend toward tiny technology, Nintendo have begun rolling out its new portable gaming console, the DSi XL, which is actually bigger than its predecessor.

Featuring two 10.6 cm screens (as compared to the DSi’s 8.25 cm dual screens, and 93 per cent larger than the Nintendo DS Lite), the chunky new device also includes a wider viewing angle and a more substantial stylus.

The device is presently shipping to Europe and is already on sale in Japan, with early indications suggesting that screen quality is excellent. Although local availability is yet to be announced, watch for more on the Nintendo DSi XL when news comes to hand.
