News: Apple Hires Wearable Tech Expert
You might be wearing your next iPod on your face, given the fact Apple’s latest high-profile employee is an expert in wearable technology. According to Computerworld, the Founder and former President at AWare Technologies, Richard DeVaul, is now Senior Prototype Engineer at Apple.
The engineer is responsible for a project called ‘The Memory Glasses,’ a heads-up display which he claimed aided memory recall by about 63 per cent without distracting the user.
With DeVaul’s experience in wearable computing, it’s safe to assume Apple is at least considering new ubiquitous devices, perhaps along the lines of the Nike+ iPod shoe integration, or the as-yet unrealised head-mounted iPod displays patented in 2008.
