News: Social Media Addicts Favour Twitter Over Sleeping, Sex
Social media addicts are reaching new levels of obsession, with a recent study by Retrevo finding 48 per cent of respondents would check either Facebook or Twitter during the night, while seven per cent of respondents were alright with checking a message during sex.
While only a fringe of Facebookers would interrupt their important business, almost half of all social media users would look at their accounts first thing in the morning, and 28 per cent of iPhone users before they even got out of bed.
Retrevo suggests we might be seeing social media services replace the time-honoured tradition of breakfast TV, with 16 per cent of under 25s, 15 per cent of over 25s, and 23 per cent of iPhone users admitting they get their morning news from Facebook or Twitter.
