News: Tone’s ‘Amazing Display’ recipient plummets in price

Epson has announced a dramatic price decrease on its acclaimed EH-TW3500 home theatre projector fresh from its 4-and-a-half star review in Tone.
The EH-TW3500 is only just on the shelves now, and replaces the highly rated TW3000. Improvements include increased overall performance, with double the contrast ratio of the TW3000, and increased connection options, including two HDMI inputs. All the usual inputs are there as well as a mini D-sub input for those wishing to use their PC as a source.
That contrast ratio: it weighs in at a figure that’s up to 36,000:1 with 1800 lumen output.
In Tone 80 – which hits the shops on Monday 7th – Gary Pearce waxes ecstatic about the EH-TW3500, noting that with its spectacularly improved contrast ratio and high lumen output “it’s possibly the best of the current 1080 crop.”
Pearce noted that with the TW3500, colours were “subtly rendered, and Epson came up trumps with a natural and very watchable rendition.”
Since Tone went to press, when the advertised recommended retail price on the EH-TW3500 was $4499, Epson has announced a dramatic price reduction “to reflect aggressive pricing and to reinforce our proposition on the market.” The new RRP is $3799.
