"This will burn them and they deserve to go down with the prices they charge" really? Mr Brave Not Telling, really? The reason the charge the way they do is for one reason, good quality costs proper sums. Maybe you should stick to Harveys, Onkyo and Samsung Mr Brave Not Telling. Leave the good stuff to the rest of us. And as for shoddy work, it's easy to say things like that with no explanation or examples while hiding on the internet. If you are so expert why did you need Strawberry Sound in the first place. You couldn't be a rival by any chance. I've had good dealings with Strawberry for years and found them to be nothing but professional. I always try to support local business.

Does the public realise the naming scam used by many TV manufacturers and the confusion it causes. Why do manufacturers describe them like this ...you guessed it to make you think you are missing out on the latest technology and to feed to your need to have the latest.

LED's have been around for years in the large stadium screens and more recently in the ICE Flexible LED curtains where the LED itself carries the pixel display image. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlz5XXJ6ibQ

LED TV are simply a LCD monitor that uses LED lamps as the backlight...nothing to amazing about that. Previously they used small flourescent tubes. Many people I talk to think that an LED TV is actually a new display technology. LED's can not be manufactured small enough to use in TV's to carry the pixel signal hence why we use them in large format public displays only.

Describing a LCD-TV and LED-TV as being two different technologies is erronus as it is simply the backlight that is being used. I doubt very few people could ever tell the difference which back light solution is being used by simply observing the picture, or for that matter could care less.

The LED lighting technology does allow extraordinarily thin profile LCD TV to almost picture on the wall type stuff. Now that is worth writing about ...but come on guys LED-TV cut the confusion out and call it for what it is.

The article on page 19 re the Displax touch foil is certainly nothing new. It first began shipping in 2004 and Auckland based ICE AV has been a distributor and installer of the technology since 2006 and more recently supporting and distributing world wide in partnership with the IP owners and manufacturers, Visual Planet in Cambridge, UK. Displax happens to be a Portugese reseller of the technology nothing more more and nothing less, they have certainly not developed the touch technology, not have been licensed by Visual Planet. For info on the first install in New Zealand download this application note. http://www.box.net/shared/u707o37mla

Video clip of the Touch technology in action - http://bit.ly/Thru-Glass-Touch

The touch foil is one of a number of touch technologies available from ICE AV including its own world first 10 point touch kit set touch frames that went into manufacture the last week of Feb 2010 http://www.iqrite.com

Also check out the Audioengine W1 (and the W2 for iPod/iPhone). It looks like the W1 transmits at a higher bitrate than the Aperion and is only $99 a set, which is great for daisy-chaining to all your gear around the house - think "poor-man's Sonos".

I use the W1 from my computer out to my living room stereo system and then another set from the living room into the dining room plugged into my Audioengine 5 powered speakers. Easy setup and sounds just as good as wires.
