Stereonerd: The launch with a catch
[WARNING: Absolutely no technology in this blog!]
I went to a launch today, but one with a catch.
I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement promising not to reveal what was being revealed until the embargo on the information later this month.
We were told we were the first to hear the news about this exciting new product, but wouldn’t be able to reveal it to our readers until the official news release date.
Because I signed the document, I cannot reveal a thing. Except what I ate.
Yes, what I can tell you is that the launch consisted of the standard power point presentation, followed by one of the tastiest free lunches this journalist has ever satiated his taste-buds with.
It’s a hard life, this journalism gig, so you’ve got to take opportunities like these when they present themselves. So I ate like a pig, relished every crumb, slurped every liquid that was pushed in my direction.
I can tell you that the bread and butter with extra virgin olive oil ($3) was crispy and fresh. The entree, Twice Baked Kawau Blue Souffle with mulled wine poached pear, belgian endive & toasted walnuts ($25) was sublime. And I would have killed for the main, Sauteed Potato Gnocchi with globe artichoke, confit beets, tarragon and hazelnut brown butter ($36). Others thoroughly enjoyed their more meaty options. The dessert capped it off and kept me in a state of bliss all afternoon: Baked Xocopili Chocolate Fondant with green cardamon ice cream. Oo-la-la!
Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable union of the unnamed Corporate Entity, the appointed PR representatives, and a small but perfectly formed group of journalistic peers from competing publications.
Great stuff, but absolutely nothing to blog about. Later!
* All prices are standard menu prices. I ate for free.
