Gadgetman: Product Packaging
It has become such an event that ‘unboxing’ is now a big time event. Get a product first, shot some photos or video or you unpacking it whilst commenting on how cool/uncool it has, upload to Youtube etc, and your famous!
This is all cool, and as a reviwer unboxing is a fun time to see whats there and whats not, BUT reviewing products means you have to return them, which means you have to REBOX them, which after several failed attempts at repackaging, gives one a new appriciation of how well these things are put together. The worst offenders are items such as all-in-one home theater system, where one box may contain several others, or even layers of boxing, plus all the plastic bags, batteries in shrink-wrap plastic, cables neatly placed, and components on polythene bags, plus of course how can we not forget all that polystyrene that breaks apart all over the floor.
Cellphones are usually easy, most only contain the handset, battery, charger, CD and manual now-days, so its easy.
But most of the time, no matter what I can never manage to get them exactly the same.
